EASA publishes new operational rules for 2024

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has published a set of updated operational rules covering training, fatigue management, and runway excursions for commercial operators across EU member states. The new rules include mandatory fatigue risk management systems for all operators above a certain fleet threshold, updated recurrent training requirements, and a revised framework for reporting and investigating runway overruns. Operators have a six-month transition period to comply, and EASA has published guidance material on its website to help smaller operators adapt.
